Participation and content

  • All events during the Wonderstruck Festival are free to attend and no bookings are required
  • Events during the Wonderstruck Festival are designed for all ages
  • All materials will be supplied for hands-on workshop activities
  • Capacity restrictions are in place for select events held during the Wonderstruck Festival, please follow instructions from staff regarding queueing and wait times
  • We ask all attendees to be kind, respectful, and courteous to all participants, speakers and staff at this event. This program will be monitored by QAGOMA staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our attendees, speakers and staff

Information for families

  • Please supervise any children under the age of 12 for whom you are responsible
  • Cloak rooms are at the entries to both QAG and GOMA. Please check bags bigger than 40cm x 15cm x 35cm, umbrellas and items our staff feel may not be safe for other visitors or works of art inside the Gallery
  • Prams are welcome, and all areas of QAG and GOMA are accessible by lift or ramp. Designated pram parking will be available
  • Parents’ rooms are available at GOMA
  • Breastfeeding and infant bottle-feeding are welcome anywhere in the Gallery, or you can use the parents’ rooms at either QAG or GOMA. The parents’ rooms can be used to mix infant formula. Food and drink for older children and adults are not allowed in the Gallery, and we ask you to please keep water bottles in a bag
  • A water bottle refill station is located outside GOMA, please BYO water bottles for refilling

Accessibility

  • The 10.45am, 11.15am, 11.45am and 12.15pm performances on the Maiwar Green stage on Sat 28 Jun will be Auslan interpreted
  • A wheelchair accessible entry for the Maiwar Green stage is located at the river end of the Maiwar Green

Sensory aspects

  • The Wonderstruck Festival takes place in indoor and outdoor areas. Please ensure you are sun safe
  • A Calm Room will be open from 9.00am – 5.00pm daily during the Wonderstruck Festival, featuring a quiet zone with comfortable places to sit, low light levels and calming activities. Please note by entering the Calm Room, you are agreeing to minimise noise and will place your personal devices on silent or use with headphones
  • A range of different types of seating will be available during the Wonderstruck Festival, including floor seating, plus chairs with and without backs
  • All sessions on the Maiwar Green stage will feature amplified sound and background music may be played
  • A bubble machine will be in operation at the Maiwar Green stage
  • The Pop-Up Talks will feature amplified sound
  • The lighting in the exhibition space is dimly lit in areas. Other areas of this event will be brightly lit (you may choose to wear sunglasses)
  • The Gallery air conditioning is set to 21°C to conserve the artworks.
  • This event will be photographed by QAGOMA staff. If you do not wish to be photographed, please advise a QAGOMA staff member
