Claudio Simonetti's Goblin Play Suspiria

22 Sep 2017 | QAGOMA | The Tivoli

In honour of its 40th anniversary, Dario Argento's beautiful, shocking and genre-defining classic Suspiria 1977 screens with prog-rock legends Claudio Simonetti's Goblin travelling from Italy to perform their iconic score, live.

Co-presented with Brisbane Festival and in association with The Tivoli, this will be a haunting, spectacular event. With its stylised neon aesthetic and operatic horror, Suspiria exists in a world of extremes, and the blistering intensity of its soundtrack is only heightened when heard live. It epitomises the blood-soaked, sensual giallo genre and tells the story of an American ballet student who stumbles onto a series of horrifying supernatural murders. This promises to be an all-out, nerve-shredding audio-visual onslaught.

The event will begin at 8.00pm, with doors open from 7.00pm. It will be General Admission seating. Suspiria is rated R18+ and this event is strictly Ages 18+.

The Tivoli is located at 52 Costin Street, Fortitude Valley.

Claudio Simonetti's Goblin Play Suspiria takes place in conjunction with the Australian Cinémathèque and Brisbane Festival's film program 'Gothic, Giallo, Gore: Masters of Italian Horror' which runs Fri 8 Sep - Sun 1 Oct 2017 at GOMA.
