HOURS & ADMISSION

GALLERY CLOSURE | COVID-19 RESPONSE

For the safety of our community, both the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art are temporarily closed to the public from 23 March 2020 until further notice.

The decision follows the Prime Minister’s announcement on 22 March of additional action to support social distancing measures, and advice for all non-essential services to close in order to minimise the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The health and wellbeing of our visitors, our staff and volunteers and the wider Gallery community is our top priority. We continue to work with the Queensland Government and coordinate with our partners in the Queensland Cultural Centre (QPAC, State Library of Queensland and Queensland Museum) to ensure the most appropriate response to COVID-19.

The Gallery would like to acknowledge the global scope of this challenge and the uncertainty faced by each of us as individuals and as a community. We thank you for your understanding and your ongoing support of the Gallery.

While we’re closed, the Gallery team is continuing to work behind the scenes to ensure we reopen in the best way possible. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Gallery when the time is right. Meanwhile, we’ll update our online presence with news as it arises.
