What to Expect

Here’s what to expect at this event.

Everyone is welcome! Please contact events.plus@qagoma.qld.gov.au in advance of the program if you have any access needs or queries about the event. Find out more about Accessibility at QAGOMA and planning your visit.

Participation and content

  • Family Fun Days are designed for kids of all ages and their families. Stay for an hour or the whole day. Some events are drop-in and free, while others require bookings and a valid ticket to attend (see Ticketing for more information).
  • Capacity restrictions are in place for select events, please follow instructions from staff regarding queueing and wait times.
  • We ask all attendees to be kind, respectful, and courteous to all participants, speakers and staff at this event. This program will be monitored by QAGOMA staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our attendees, speakers and staff.

Information for families

  • Please supervise any children under the age of 12 for whom you are responsible.
  • A free cloak room is located at the entry to GOMA. Please check bags bigger than 40cm x 15cm x 35cm, and umbrellas.
  • Prams are welcome, and all areas of GOMA are accessible by lift or ramp.
  • There are two parents’ rooms at GOMA, one in the Cinema Foyer on Level 1 and one located on Park Level near the lift.
  • Breastfeeding and infant bottle-feeding are welcome anywhere in the Gallery, or you can use the parents’ rooms at either QAG or GOMA. The parents’ rooms can be used to mix infant formula. Food and drink for older children and adults are not allowed in the Gallery, and we ask you to please keep water bottles in a bag.

Ticketing

Most events are free and unbooked, with select ticketed experiences available:

Sat 26 Sep & Sun 24 Jan - Queensland Puppetry Showcase Performances with Larrikin Puppets:

  • A valid ​‘​​Queensland Puppetry Showcase: Larrikin Puppets’ ticket is required for all attendees, including children and adults accompanying children.
  • Children under the age of 1 must be seated on the lap of an adult.
  • Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times
  • QAGOMA Members ticket vouchers are not accepted for this event.
  • Your ‘​​Queensland Puppetry Showcase: Larrikin Puppets’ ticket grants access to the performance time and date listed on the ticket only - it does not include entry to 'Make, Believe, Magic: The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company'. A separate, valid timed ticket is required to visit the exhibition.
  • QTIX is QAGOMA’s Ticketing provider, with a call centre and box office operating within the QPAC building in the Cultural Centre. QTIX Call Centre open hours details are available via on their website.
  • Cancellation and refund policy: Tickets are not refundable, in line with the QTIX terms and conditions agreed at sale, or transferable if you change your mind. Refunds may be considered in extenuating circumstances at the Gallery's discretion. Please contact events.plus@qagoma.qld.gov.au for more information.

Companion Cards

We accept Companion Cards. A Companion Card is issued by the Queensland Government, for those with a disability and need for attendant care support. The ‘Companion’ ticket type is only valid for your companion to gain complimentary entry. A General Admission, Youth, QAGOMA Member or Child ticket is required for the Companion Card holder to access this event. A valid companion card number is required to be supplied upon booking.
