About
Belial is angry. After being separated from his 'normal' conjoined twin Duane at a tender age, he has lived a monstrous half-formed existence, misshapen and living in a wicker basket. Aggrieved at his treatment, Belial drives Duane to seek violent revenge on the doctors he believes have wronged him. Frank Henenlotter's low-budget cult classic is a deliciously grimy and gory slice of independent horror, shot on the seamy streets of 1980s New York. Now restored in 4K by the Museum of Modern Art, Basket Case continues to burst with life and an inimitable sense of sordid humour.
Please note: this film contains a scene of sexual violence.
