Young Ones

30 Mar 2018 – 5 Aug 2018
GOMA | Gallery 2.1 | Free

'Young Ones' features works from six artists who are 35 or younger: Uji Handoko Eko Saputro (also known as Hahan), Tyza Stewart, Abdul Abdullah, Liam O'Brien and Vincent Namatjira. These artists were children at the turn of the twenty-first century, their work draws from various facets of contemporary life while remaining grounded in art history, forging a fresh style that resists yet enfolds the lessons of their predecessors.

'Young Ones', and 'Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art' which showcases high school students across Queensland, both profile artists at an early stage in their careers who must navigate a world of ever-changing technology, globalised networks and political instability while seeking their own aesthetic approach.
