Film + Talk: The Politics of Place

Presented in partnership with the Keir Foundation and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Queensland.  

Join us for a screening of Ousmane Sembène's Black Girl 1966, recently restored by Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Foundation. The screening will be followed by a lecture on 1960s Senegalese film by international guest speaker Steven Nelson, Director, UCLA African Studies Center, Los Angeles.

Screening materials restored by Cineteca di Bologna/ L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory, in association with the Sembène Estate, Institut National de l’Audiovisuel, INA, Eclair laboratories and the Centre National de Cinématographie. Restoration funded by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project.
