From kitsch souvenirs to once popular children's books and toys, what place do racist objects have in today's society? Hear from visual artist Bianca Beetson as she confronts, reconciles and reinterprets objects from Australia's past.
Bianca Beetson is a Gubbi Gubbi (Sunshine Coast) Waradjuri (NSW) woman, born in Roma, Queensland. She is a member of the Campfire Group as well as the ProppaNOW artist group, both based in Brisbane. Bianca's work is concerned with her individual identity as an indigenous Australian, as well as the identity of Australia as a nation in terms of its history and governance.
