Join historian and author Margaret Cook for an online illustrated discussion about her latest book offering a compelling history of floods in the Brisbane River catchment, A River with a City Problem (2019)Extensively researched, the book highlights the force of nature, the vagaries of politics and the power of community. With many river cities facing urban development challenges, Cook makes a convincing argument for what must change to prevent further tragedy. A River with a City Problem will be discussed in the Members Virtual Book Club in June.
