We’ve selected these gorgeous figure sketches in the QAGOMA Collection which highlight delicate graphite lines and expressive shading to study the human form. These artists have put in practice their knowledge of human body proportions and anatomy, using gestural lines to capture the flow of the figure.
You may be familiar with paintings by these Australian artists, some works currently on display in the permanent Collection hang, however does their drawing style match their creative work? Look for works by George W Lambert, Rupert Bunny, Ian Fairweather, Norman Lindsay and Godfrey Miller.
