Participation and content

  • Entry to the Children’s Art Centre is free
  • Vipoo Srivilasa: Express Yourself features hands-on making and screen-based activities, and multi-sensory activities inviting children to dance, sit still, and experience different scents
  • Pram parking is available outside the Children’s Art Centre. Prams are welcome in the activity spaces during quiet times or if occupied by a sleeping child
  • Parents’ rooms are available opposite the Park Level Children’s Art Centre space and in the Cinema Foyer on Level 1
  • For health and safety reasons, children must wear shoes in the Gallery

Accessibility features

  • Braille and large print guide
  • Drawing boards are available to support visitors who feel more comfortable using a different creative setup

Sensory aspects

  • The Children’s Art Centre can be busy at times. For those who prefer a calmer environment, visiting after 3pm is often a quieter option
  • Instrumental background music is played in the space
  • Ambient music from a looping video plays intermittently
  • Lemongrass, orange and lavender essential oils are used in this exhibition and are contained to the corridor
  • The exhibition features bright natural light contained to a section of the space
  • The Gallery air conditioning is set to 21°C to conserve the artworks. We recommend bringing a light jumper or jacket

Food and drink

  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are welcome anywhere in the Gallery
  • For the safety of artworks, food and drink cannot be consumed in the Gallery except by children seated in a pram

Capacity

  • The activities in this exhibition space each have capacity limits. During busy periods, there may be a small wait time to access activities
  • Queuing to enter the Children’s Art Centre is occasionally required at peak times, including on school holidays
