About
Shannon Brett is a proud Wakka Wakka, Butchulla and Gurang Gurang artist, designer, educator, researcher and curator. When Shannon was a child, they would dream up clothing and pattern designs in their school exercise books. Today, Shannon creates garments for the runway and community with their own fashion label, LORE.
The artist draws on many sources of inspiration when developing their designs and patterns, including their connection to nature and the experiences of friends. In the activity Fashion Show, Shannon invites children to use card and coloured pencils to create their own fashion model and outfits, decorated with patterns meaningful to them.
Art Box for Kids is an exhibition series that prioritises sustainable exhibition design and the use of recycled or repurposed activity materials where possible.
