In this special after-hours workshop, you’ll spark meaningful connections and conversations with others while exploring new ways to look at art. Engage with the artworks on display in ‘Living Patterns: Contemporary Australian Abstraction’ through a slow-looking activity, tune into your body and mind through meditation and movement, and connect with others in this unique opportunity for QAGOMA Members and their guests. Presented during Queensland Mental Health Week (7 – 15 October 2023).

About the facilitators
Sonja Mapleston is an educator and Yoga and Meditation teacher. Sonja runs group mindfulness experiences to inspire and empower individuals and strengthen community well-being. She weaves together ancient knowledge and rituals with modern science, utilising a range of proven techniques (art, circling, ceremony, meditation) to create unique workshops, programs and retreats that help us to unplug and foster authentic connection – to ourselves, to the Earth and to each other.
Celia Roberts introduces us to deeper dimensions of Yoga, Meditation & Lifestyle Medicine. Celia runs the BioMedical Institute of Yoga & Meditation in the foothills of Brisbane, Australia, and reaches a global online audience with Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training. She invites people from all walks of life to merge science and spirituality for betterment of their health and well-being, to ultimately have deeper insight and know true compassion within.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Ticket holders must provide 2 days notice of cancellation to be eligible for a refund. Within 24 hours of the event date, ticket holders may request to transfer their payment to another Members event. No-shows cannot be refunded or transferred.
