Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions and displays at this virtual event for Members! In the third of our series of online lectures, Ellie Buttrose (Curator, Contemporary Australian Art) joins us for an overview of the new QAGOMA exhibition 'Cut it: Collage to Meme'. Using the lenses of news reporting and entertainment media to explore collage, montage and sampling as enduring methods in art, the exhibition contemplates our voracious consumption of images and shifting relationship to contemporary iconography. Drawing on the vernacular of newspaper and posters, photography and videos, mash-ups and memes, ‘Cut it’ demonstrates the ongoing influence of art history on contemporary visual culture. Free for Members / $10 Members' guests / Book online or call 07 3840 7278 / The link to join the event will be sent to the email address you booked with one hour prior to the start of the session.
