About
A dystopian novel told from the truly unique perspective of a worker bee in a hive, The Bees by Laline Paull tells what we might imagine to be a very 'human' story of community, devotion, war and want. Worker bee Flora 717 was born to serve and die for the hive, but a series of events see her status as a worker grow and with that, she begins to question the laws they all live and die by. Suggested by Marian Nolan, The Bees is a thought-provoking final book in our 'Sugar Spin' book club series.
