No door sales. No entry without ticket. IN SEARCH OF HOME William Yang assembles stories of his search for identity in Queensland. He grew up on a tobacco farm on the Atherton Tableland and he and his siblings were brought up as assimilated Australians. Here the dry, harsh country of Dimbulah seeped into his consciousness and he has come to identify this landscape as home. In the late sixties, his parents retired to Brisbane where William was studying architecture at the University of Queensland. For decades their house at Graceville was the family home. At University William met Jill Jordan who owned with others a property called Frogs Hollow at Maleny. Once a dairy farm it is set on 300 acres of bush. This became his adoptive home, and it is now a sanctuary. Yang has been visiting this community and photographing nature at Maleny for fifty years. These images and stories, some old, some new, are held together by an evocative soundtrack by Brisbane composer Timothy Fairless.
