What to expect

Yoga at the Gallery is unique. Here’s what to expect:

  • We encourage attendees to arrive early, so you can get settled into the Gallery space before the session
  • We recommend that you bring your own mat, but we have a limited number available for you to borrow if you forget
  • You’ll be practicing yoga alongside artworks. It’s a great way to experience art in a new light!
  • No experience is required. The session is appropriate for both beginners and advanced practitioners, you’ll be guided by our expert facilitator – who is there to support you
  • The Gallery can get a little chilly as the temperature is set to 21 degrees for the preservation of the artwork, so bring a towel or shawl
  • We recommend that you remove your shoes for the session (but it’s not compulsory to)
  • At the beginning and end of the session, there may be a short meditation – you can close your eyes or keep them open (whatever you feel comfortable with)
  • We try our best to minimise sound in the space but sometimes there might be low level noise from a nearby artwork or the sounds of the Gallery
