About
Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions, displays and programs at the monthly Members lecture.
John Cassavetes crafts passionate and daring human dramas. Beginning his career as a charismatic actor in Hollywood, he went on to write and direct feature films. His films capture the challenges of everyday life and are suffused with deep wells of empathy for his wonderfully flawed characters. His dynamic, free-wheeling style of filmmaking played a revolutionary role in shaping the world of independent American cinema. Rosie Hays, Associate Curator, Australian Cinematheque, will discuss his filmmaking work and the creative relationships he forged with key collaborators including his wife and muse Gena Rowlands.
Free for Members, $10 Members’ guests. Bookings are essential as capacity is limited.
