Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions, displays and programs at the monthly Members lecture.

Gain insights into two of the Gallery’s major education initiatives. Rachael Ryan, Program Officer, Education and Curriculum, will discuss the works in this year’s ‘Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art’, an initiative of the Department of Education supported by QAGOMA, showcasing works by high-achieving Queensland secondary students that express the thoughts, feelings and concerns of their generation. Following this, Georgia Hoskinson, Senior Program Officer, Cultural Learning, will discuss Design Tracks, the Gallery’s multi‑day program connecting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander young people with creative mentors to build artistic skills and networks.

Free for Members, $10 Members’ guests. Bookings are essential as capacity is limited.

Participation and content

  • We ask all attendees to be kind, respectful, and courteous to all participants, speakers and staff at this event. This program will be monitored by QAGOMA staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our attendees, speakers and staff.

Sensory aspects

  • Speakers will use an amplified microphone.
  • A screen/projection will be used during the event.
  • This event will be held in Cinema A, which is a 220 seat theatre space.
  • The lights will be turned down on the audience during the event. You can leave the space at any time and re-enter the event.
  • Chairs with backs will be available.
  • This event will be photographed by QAGOMA staff. If you do not wish to be photographed, please advise a QAGOMA staff member on arrival.
  • The Lecture will be recorded and later made available on the private Members YouTube playlist. Please email members@qagoma.qld.gov.au to request the link to a lecture recording.
