Taking inspiration from artworks on display in ‘eX de Medici: Beautiful Wickedness’, join artist and facilitator Nicole Crosswell for an intimate two-hour botanical illustration workshop. Drawing from fresh, seasonal flowers and resin-encased insect specimens, you’ll be introduced to observational skills while exploring composition, shape and texture. On beautiful fine art paper, you’ll experiment with detailed techniques including stippling and crosshatching using graphite, ink pens and colour washes.

Tea, coffee and all materials provided. Suitable for all skill levels.

About the facilitator

Nicole Crosswell is a practicing visual artist, arts facilitator and scientific illustrator at The Queensland Herbarium at Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. Her body of work encapsulates her love and understanding of the natural world and its intersection with the human condition.

Ticket holders must provide 2 days notice of cancellation to be eligible for a refund. Within 24 hours of the event date, ticket holders may request to transfer their payment to another Members event. No-shows cannot be refunded or transferred.
