Gingerbread (2019) by Helen Oyeyemi
Influenced by the mysterious place gingerbread holds in classic stories, Helen Oyeyemi invites readers into a delightful tale of a surprising family legacy, in which the inheritance is a recipe. The novel follows the Lee family, whose recipe for gingerbread holds magical properties, connecting them to a mythical land. Through the perspectives of multiple generations, Oyeyemi explores the complexities of relationships and the fantastical elements embedded in the seemingly ordinary act of baking.
Ticket includes light refreshments. Members receive 20% off current and past Book Club titles from the QAGOMA Store.
