What to Expect

About

Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions at our monthly Members lecture, then catch up with friends and meet fellow Members over a two-course lunch in the River Lounge at GOMA.

Cinema curators Rosie Hays and Victoria Wareham share insights into the five programs presented across Asia Pacific Triennial Cinema. Explore three filmmaker surveys, including emerging Indonesian filmmaker Kamila Andini, Academy-award winning Japanese filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and senior Taiwanese-Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang. Plus, discover thematic programs ‘Future Visions’ in which filmmakers daringly ask the question ‘what if’ to consider the future of the environment and cultural identities; and ‘The Rise of Central Asia Cinema’ which charts the emergence of new filmmaking voices from Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region. Lecture only tickets may be available.

This talk is the fifth in an ongoing series offering insights into artworks and projects included in ‘The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’, on display across QAG & GOMA from 30 November 2024 to 27 April 2025.

Includes a glass of wine and two-course lunch (main and dessert). Please RSVP and advise any special dietary requirements by Tuesday 21 January.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Ticket holders must provide notice of cancellation by Tuesday 21 January to be eligible for a refund or transfer their payment to another Members event. Refund and transfer requests received after the RSVP date cannot be guaranteed.
