About
Take a journey of discovery this season as we learn about the lives of four artists from the QAGOMA Collection. Martin Sharp's art was as singular as his style, with his practice blurring conventional boundaries of high and low art. A controversial identity with ties to the libertarians and nonconformists of the Sydney Push, when Sharp died, he was described as a stranger in a strange land. Longlisted for this year’s Stella Prize, Joyce Morgan’s spirited biography captures Sharp’s privileged childhood, the heady days at OZ magazine fighting against censorship, the exuberant creativity of Swinging London and beyond. The Gallery’s Collection holds a number of Sharp’s screenprints. $12 Members | $17 Members' guests (includes coffee/tea and sweets) / Book online or call (07) 3840 7278 to join the monthly discussions hosted by Book Club Facilitator Eve Jensen / Members receive 20% off current and past Book Club titles from the QAGOMA Store.
