About

Children aged 7–12 can join artist Shannon Brett to create their very own bag charm or fashion accessory.

Using fabric offcuts of designs by the artist from their fashion label LORE, children will be invited to cut out simple shapes and learn a simple sewing technique to create two pillowy charms, ready to be attached to a backpack or worn as a brooch.

With the help of the artist, workshop facilitators and their parents or carer, children will discover the basics of sewing and fashion design.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at this program.

This program is designed for children aged from 7-12 years. Sensory aspects

  • The workshop will be held in an indoor space.
  • The workshop space will be lit via natural and artificial light.
  • The workshop will be tactile in nature and involve paper, scissors and glue.
  • A hearing loop is available on request. Please let us know ahead of time if your child requires a hearing loop.

  • This program will take place at the GOMA Seminar Room for the whole duration. All materials are provided.
  • For the safety of artworks, food and drink can only be consumed outside the Gallery. Open food and drink containers are not allowed in the exhibition spaces.
