About

Children aged 7–12 can join artist Lincoln Austin to explore optical effects in their Tri-my-glyph – 3 drawings in 1 workshop activity, inspired by a technique used by the artist in their work Out of Sight 2013.

Children will be invited to make three pictures, cut the pictures into strips, and see them transformed by arranging them to create a three-dimensional paper collage. As children view their finished collage, a different picture will be visible from the left-side, right-side and front.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at this program.

What to Expect

This program is designed for children aged from 7-12 years. Sensory aspects

The workshop will be held in an indoor space.

The workshop space will be lit via natural and artificial light.

The workshop will be tactile in nature and involve paper, scissors and glue.

A hearing loop is available on request. Please let us know ahead of time if your child requires a hearing loop.

Each workshop has a maximum capacity of 14 children.

This program will take place at the GOMA Seminar Room for the whole duration. All materials are provided.

Food and drink

For the safety of artworks, food and drink can only be consumed outside the Gallery. Open food and drink containers are not allowed in the exhibition spaces.
