About the artist

Ngugi artist Elisa Jane Carmichael is the first exhibiting artist in the Art Box for Kids exhibition series on display at the Children's Art Centre.

She uses cyanotype printing to explore themes related to the natural world and her family’s connection to the land.

What to Expect

This program is designed for children aged from 7-12 years. Capacity

Each workshop has a maximum capacity of 14 children and their families.

Participation and content

  • All materials are provided.
  • Supervision by a parent or guardian is required. Children are encouraged to take the lead creatively during the workshop to enable them to make the most of their experience.
  • Ticket holders are entitled to 10% off a purchase at the GOMA Bistro on workshop dates.

Sensory aspects

  • Soft, recorded background music may be played during the workshop.
  • A hearing loop is available on request. Please let us know ahead of time if your child requires a hearing loop.
  • The Gallery air conditioning is set to 21°C to conserve the artworks. We recommend bringing a light jumper or jacket with you if you wish to go into the exhibition spaces.

Food and drink

  • We recommend packing a water bottle and a light snack.
  • For the safety of artworks, food and drink can only be consumed in the workshop area. Open food and drink containers are not allowed in the Gallery spaces.
