In a gallery, the rules are usually simple: look, but don’t touch. At QAGOMA, we’re gently turning that idea on its head. This drop-in multisensory experience invites visitors to engage with art through touch. Using specially developed tactile materials, visitors can explore selected artworks beyond the visual, discovering sensory-rich ways of experiencing and responding to art while expanding what drawing can be.

Participation and content

  • This event is a guided tactile experience.
  • If the event becomes overwhelming or stressful, sensory kits are available.

Sensory aspects

  • We try our best to minimise sound in the space, but sometimes there might be low level noise from a nearby artwork or the sounds of the Gallery. If the sound becomes overwhelming, earmuffs are available.
  • The Gallery air conditioner temperature is set to 21°C to conserve the artworks.
  • This event will be photographed/filmed by QAGOMA staff. If you do not wish to be photographed/filmed, please advise a QAGOMA staff member on arrival.
