Event access and supervision

  • The GOMA Teens night is strictly for teens aged 13–17 years only. You may be required to present one acceptable proof of age ID to enter the event, such as a valid student ID card, Learner's Permit, Driver's Licence, Passport or Photo identification card.
  • The GOMA Teens night is a parent/guardian free event. QAGOMA staff will be available to support attendees and supervise the event. If a parent, guardian or adult carer needs to accompany a teen for accessibility reasons, they are very welcome to.
  • Teens must have parental/guardian approval to book the ticket and attend the event, and your parent/guardian must read and consent to the conditions of event.
  • The GOMA Teens night is strictly drug-free and alcohol-free. No vaping or smoking is permitted. Anyone under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be permitted.
  • Entry to the event is at the discretion of QAGOMA. Security may conduct bag checks.
  • If you wish to leave the event before 8.30pm, you’ll need to check out at the front entrance by confirming your transportation plans with QAGOMA staff. Please note that once you leave the event, you will not be able to re-enter. QAGOMA will not be responsible for supervising participants who leave the event early.
  • QAGOMA is not responsible for any participants prior to the event commencing and after the event concludes.

  • We ask all attendees to be kind, respectful and courteous to all participants, performers and staff at this event.

Participation and content

  • Teens are welcome to come with a friend, in a group or solo. Many people attend the Gallery and events on their own.
  • The GOMA Teens Night is an immersive and social experience of the Gallery after-hours just for teens. Your ticket includes:
  • After-hours entry to level 1 of GOMA to view 'Olafur Eliasson: Presence'. We recommend allowing an hour to experience the exhibition.
  • Live DJ performances.
  • Pop-up performances.

Accessibility

  • Low seating and tables will be available.
  • This event is wheelchair accessible.

Sensory aspects

  • Amplified music will be played throughout the event.
  • Different areas of the event and exhibition will be dimly or brightly lit (you may choose to wear sunglasses).
  • The Gallery air conditioning is set to 21°C to conserve the artwork.
  • The bathrooms have sensor lights which activate as you enter.
  • This event may be photographed or filmed by QAGOMA staff. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please advise a QAGOMA staff member on arrival.
  • A Calm Room will be open during the event on Level 2, featuring a quiet zone with comfortable places to sit, low light levels and calming activities. Please note that by entering the Calm Room, you are agreeing to minimise noise and place your personal devices on silent or use headphones.
  • If the event becomes overwhelming or stressful, earmuffs and sensory kits are available. Each kit contains a number of resources for self-regulation and calming. Please speak to a staff member for assistance. These kits can also be requested in advance by emailing teens@qagoma.qld.gov.au

Companion Cards

We accept Companion Cards. A Companion Card is issued by the Queensland Government, for those with a disability and need for attendant care support. The ‘Companion’ ticket type is only valid for your companion to gain complimentary entry. A valid GOMA Teen Night ticket is required for the Companion Card holder to access this event. A valid companion card number is required to be supplied upon booking.
