What to Expect

About

Draw along with artist Dr Bill Platz, at this en-plein air drawing workshop using pastels, inspired by the exhibition ‘Under a Modern Sun: Art in Queensland 1930s–1950s’.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make your own soft pastels and explore the art of en-plein air (in the open air) drawing, set against the backdrop of the Brisbane River. You'll follow in the footsteps of renowned artists like Vida Lahey and William Bustard by experimenting with techniques to capture Brisbane’s iconic skyline and bridges, just as they did in the mid-twentieth century.

No prior drawing experience required / Designed for all skill levels.
This workshop is repeated on Sat 8 and Sun 9 Nov. Limited places available.

Bookings essential / Tickets: $65 General admission, $49 QAGOMA Members (Valid QAGOMA Member or Foundation Card required) / Ticket price includes all materials, including a take-home material pack and light refreshments.

All sessions are booked out. Please join the waitlist to be notified if a spot becomes available.
