About
Art Academy is a ten-week course for 13–15-year-olds with an interest in studying art and making artworks.
Students will respond to a selection of artworks on display in QAGOMA Galleries as the stimulus through which to explore a range of art materials and techniques.
At the conclusion of the course, each artist will produce a portfolio of experimental artworks and reflective statements to document their creative and conceptual development.
The course will be led by Andrew Peachey who is a practicing artist, teacher and author. All sessions will be held at QAGOMA with staff from the Gallery’s Learning Department working alongside Andrew to support the young artists.
Places will be limited to 10 students for the first season of Art Academy.
A course fee of $300 will cover all ten sessions inclusive of:
- Tuition: in-gallery tours and practical workshops
- Art materials and supplies
- A folio of works
- Afternoon refreshments
- After-hours access
