About
Often fleeting and detached, Andrew Haigh’s Weekend reframes the casual hook-up as a temporally infinite space of meaningful connection.
After abandoning a house party with his straight friends, Russell (Tom Cullen) heads to a gay club where he meets Glen (Chris New). Waking up the following morning together Russell and Glen begin to talk. The film follows their intense and deep if not fleeting connection. Penetrating and witty, Haigh slows down the transitory nature of a hook-up and stretches their time to explore how guards are let down in these intimate settings.
MA15+ | Strong sex scenes, sexual references, drug use and coarse language
