About
A lyrical blend of documentary and fiction, Allison Chhorn’s The Plastic House is an elliptical reflection on grief. After the death of her parents, a young woman (played by Chhorn) tends to a greenhouse, engrossing herself in the routines of its maintenance. Exploring isolation, labour and healing, the film is constructed as a hypnotising tone poem, following the subtleties of mood and texture through its evocative cinematography and expertly crafted sound design.
