About
The Song of the Cloud Forest 1989
Jim Henson’s passion for the environment is front and centre in this fluorescent forest special.
Using television to broadcast his activism to a wide audience, Henson created neon-coloured rainforest of colourful creatures, including a chameleon, snake, birds, monkeys and an armadillo, who protect their friend - a lonely, endangered golden toad named Milton - from human capture.
The encroachment of human ‘progress’ is allegorised through the animals’ vision of faceless humans eating everything in the forest. Highlighting the importance of biodiversity within its stunning visuals, The Song of the Cloud Forest’s eco-friendly message is now more important than ever.

Living with Dinosaurs 1988
Young Dom (Gregory Chisolm), dealing with the pre-teen growing pains of school bullies and embarrassing parents, has a secret: his stuffed dinosaur toy - anachronistically named 'Dog' - can speak, move and loves Elvis. With a temperamental artist father (Michael Maloney) and heavily pregnant mother (Juliet Stevenson), Dog often fills an emotional space for the precocious Dom. Living with Dinosaurs is a heart-warming tale of learning self-care and leaving childhood behind, scripted by celebrated writer Anthony Minghella, who also penned episodes for The StoryTeller 1987–1989.
