In this riotous adult folktale, lovelorn Nick (Jai Courtney) pushes his cheating fiancé Kori (Emily Browning) into a hole on the advice of talking fox (Olivia Coleman). He soon regrets the velvet-voiced vixen’s instructions when Kori returns as compliant but a little feral. Featuring a stand-out cast, including Sam Neill voicing a crude magpie, Russo’s The Fox is an absurd delight. The film’s wily creatures were realised by a talented animatronic design and puppeteering crew including Adam Johansen and Damian Martin, directors of Sydney SFX company, Odd Studio.
