About
The quintessential surf movie, Bruce Brown’s The Endless Summer is a heliotropic odyssey. The film follows American surfers Mike Hynson and Robert August as they chase the summer sun around in the world in search of surf breaks from California to South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Hawaii. Brown shot the film without formal training and little planning. Like surfing, he followed the flow of the journey, and recorded serendipitous adventures, narrated in laid back voiceover. Sun baked and bleached out, the film celebrates surfing culture around the world.
