About
Hitchcock’s late-career thriller sees nature turn against a Californian coastal town. When San Franscisco socialite Melanie (Tippi Hedren) follows a lawyer acquaintance to his hometown to celebrate his kid sister’s birthday, the region’s avian residents begin staging a series of increasingly vicious attacks on their human counterparts.
Although largely unsuccessful, the production was one of the first to invest heavily in the development of animatronics, with several mechanical birds having been created for use on set.
PG | Mild horror themes and violence
