About
Session 9 follows an asbestos cleanup crew tasked with rushing the removal of the hazardous insulation from an abandoned psychiatric hospital. Already dealing with the strain of their own personal issues and the respiratory perils of the work, the team find they must also contend with the mysterious reverberations of the hospital’s violent past.
With its unique proto-digital cinematography and unforgettable location shooting at the Danvers State Hospital in Massachusetts, Brad Anderson’s film has established a reputation as one of the gems of early 2000s horror cinema. It is an unsettling and absorbing nightmare, heightened by its brooding score and the compelling performances from the film’s cast.
Session 9 will screen from an imported 35mm print.
