This first feature film spin-off from Sesame Street includes favourites Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Mr. Snuffleupagus, Grover and many more. After well-meaning avian social worker Miss Finch (voiced by M*A*S*H star Sally Kellerman) takes our oversized yellow feathered friend to live in Illinois with a family of dodos, he soon misses his New York home. Big Bird starts the long journey back to his chosen family while his Sesame Street friends undertake an epic road trip to find him. Recruited by Jim Henson for Sesame Street in 1969, puppeteer Caroll Spinney played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch for almost 50 years, winning several Emmys for his work, with Big Bird even making the cover of TIME magazine.
