Zemzemeh

Zemzemeh will craft a bespoke soundscape for these city symphony films that showcases their unique sound that draws on haunting folk and world music traditions blended with experimental, electronic imaginings that firmly plants their sound in the contemporary.

Greta Kelly plays shah kaman (Persian spike-fiddle), violin and theremini with live looping. For over 15 years she has collaborated with renowned artists from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon and France. She is a founding member of internationally touring groups DeepBlue and Mzaza and cut her teeth in the Czech folk scene and indie Brisbane bands. These days Greta produces and performs in large scale music-theatre and outdoor music-art installations.

Siyavash Doostkhah has studied traditional and mystical music of Iran that he integrates into electronic music which has been featured in theatre, documentaries, outdoor installations and music festivals. In early 90’s, Siyavash studied field recording and electroacoustic sound manipulation with renowned French musique concrète master, Rodolphe Blois at the Queensland Conservatorium.
