About
Recently divorced Dad Ron (Jay Harrington) takes his kids on holiday to the rural enclave of Turkey Hollow to stay with his Aunt Cly (Mary Steenburgen) who would rather save than serve turkeys at Thanksgiving. Forced to undertake a technology detox, the kids’ interest is piqued by the town’s bigfoot-like cryptid, the Howling Hoodoo. With the help of their late Uncle’s journal, their search instead leads them to a group of friendly monsters in the local forest. Jim Henson originally developed the story with collaborator Jerry Juhl in the 1960s, and his daughter Lisa Henson finally brought her father’s idea to the screen decades later, serving as Executive Producer.
