About
The shimmering delicacy of hummingbirds, their fragility and resilience and the intertwining of animal and human worlds is captured with warmth and lightness in this exquisite documentary by Australian filmmaker Sally Aitken. Los Angeles resident Terry Masear devotes her time to caring for injured hummingbirds, hoping to set them free again after their full rehabilitation. While Terry may be the last hope for an injured or orphaned bird, she credits them, and the beauty and wonder they imbue, with the means for her coming to terms with her own experiences of loss, trauma and loneliness. A magical and heart-warming portrait of cheeky hummingbirds and the selflessness of their carer.
