About
In a remote Welsh village, inside a picturesque stone barn, eccentric inventor Brian unveils his most ambitious project yet. With shaking hands, he flips the switch on his new creation: a robot companion with artificial intelligence. Not a typical cinematic vision of AI, the robot, who has been gifted the name Charles, has the body of a washing machine and an insatiable curiosity. Styled as a mockumentary, the film stars British comedian David Earl as Brian whose lovable awkwardness and mugging for the camera is nuanced with moments of tenderness. This offbeat, British comedy navigates loneliness and love against the backdrop of gorgeous mountainous landscapes and the mysterious cacophony of clutter found inside Brian’s workshop.
