About
Beau Travail will screen from an imported 35mm print.
Claire Denis’ mesmerising masterpiece drifts through the recollections of a French foreign legion officer as he recalls his days training with a battalion of soldiers on the desert sands of Dijbouti. The film viscerally captures the blood and perspiration sapped out of the soldiers’ bodies as they train on the dry terrain, while the Gulf of Aden extends out beyond the horizon.
