Leos Carax’s English-language debut is an electrifying stylised rock opera collaboration with American pop-duo Sparks (Ron Mael and Russell Mael), which pushes boundaries and defies expectations at every turn.
Henry (Adam Driver), a saturnine stand-up comedian, and Ann (Marion Cotillard), a publicly adored opera singer, are all-consumingly in love. When their combustible relationship breaks down, however, their ethereal daughter, Annette (puppeteered by Estelle Charlier and Romuald Colline), shines brightly with the magic and power of everything they have lost.
