About
The formidable talent of influential Australian satirist and cartoonist Bruce Petty is showcased in two of his works: Leisure 1976 and Karl Marx 1979. Leisure won an Academy Award in 1976 and rails against the diminishing role of leisure time in our industrial age. Karl Marx utilises Petty’s signature humour and delves into Marx’s personality and theories that lead to workers fighting for their rights – a movement that inspired Petty’s activist heart.
