Kids on Tour 2017

1 Jan 2017 – 17 Apr 2017
ON TOUR | Free

'The Gabori Sisters: Gathering By the Sea' celebrates the creative legacy of Sally Gabori and the work of her three daughters Elsie, Amanda and Dorothy Gabori.

Regional audiences will have the opportunity to go on a journey to the artists' homeland of Bentinck Island in Queensland's Gulf of Carpentaria. Through specially designed interactive hands-on making and multimedia activities, visitors will be introduced to the unique and important relationship the Kaiadilt people share with the sea and the creatures who inhabit the waters around the Island.

Coinciding with this program, the regional touring exhibition 'My Country, I Still Call Australia Home: Contemporary Art from Black Queensland', includes a work by Sally Gabori, and will tour until August 2017.

Kids on Tour is a free program to more than 80 regional Queensland communities through the Gallery’s Regional Services department.
