About
Abbas Kiarostami's Five (also known as Five Dedicated to Ozu) is a simple, mesmerising meditation. The film consists of five shots with no dialogue. Across these shots, Kiarostami offers a gentle examination of water; we see driftwood being rocked by ocean waves, join visitors to the beach, observe scurrying ducks, and hear frogs chirping together at night. A patient work from one of the icons of modern Iranian cinema.
