SYNOPSIS

Filmmaker Robert Greene follows actress Kate Lyn Shiel as she prepares for a fictional feature film role playing Christine Chubbuk, a news reporter who committed suicide on live television in 1974.  Forgoing the usual documentary approach of talking head interviews, Greene works closely with Kate to go past the more sensational aspects of Christine’s story and attempt to understand the psychological context of her decisions. As Kate gets deeper into the role, the actress’s feelings about Christine and her identification with the ‘character’ blurs the line between what is being performed and what is being experienced.

Ages 18+ | Adult themes, discussion of suicide
