About
Pulse will screen from an imported 35mm print.
A terrifying jolt of techno-paranoia from J-horror auteur Kiyoshi Kurosawa. When plant shop employee Taguchi suddenly commits suicide, his friends and colleagues become haunted by ghostly images transmitted through the internet. Soon more people across Tokyo seem to be disappearing without a trace, as even greater numbers of malevolent cyber apparitions begin to spread. A haunting treatise on loneliness and the existential quandaries posed by the then-growing power of the internet, Kurosawa's film is a prescient and at times shocking slice of twenty-first century horror.
