SYNOPSIS
An atmospheric portrait of a small Québécois community rocked by the death of a young man.
As the town searches its soul and contemplates the future, strange visitors start to appear. Roughly paralleling films such as Robin Campillo’s They Came Back 2004, renowned French-Canadian filmmaker Denis Côté (A Skin So Soft 2017, BIFF 2018) returns with his take on the zombie — an intimate, thought-provoking film that offers space for deeper, personal contemplation. Côté has remarked: ‘We’re afraid of things different from us. You can pick the angle you want, death, resistance to change, immigration, it’s a buffet of a film!’
